Step-by-Step Configuration

Access Xfinity Admin Panel

  1. 1.Connect to your Xfinity network
  2. 2.Open browser and go to 10.0.0.1
  3. 3.Login with admin/password (check gateway label)
  4. 4.Or use Xfinity app for easier access

Enable Bridge Mode (Optional)

  1. 1.Go to Gateway > At a Glance
  2. 2.Select "Enable Bridge Mode"
  3. 3.Use your own router for better control
  4. 4.Restart gateway after enabling

Bridge mode disables WiFi on xFi Gateway

Configure Port Forwarding

  1. 1.Navigate to Advanced > Port Forwarding
  2. 2.Click "Add Port Forward"
  3. 3.Enter device IP and ports
  4. 4.Save and apply changes

Set Up DMZ (If Needed)

  1. 1.Go to Advanced > DMZ
  2. 2.Enter gaming device IP address
  3. 3.Enable DMZ for that device
  4. 4.Use only if port forwarding fails

Xfinity Advanced Security

To Disable Advanced Security:

  1. 1. Open Xfinity app
  2. 2. Go to Connect → Advanced Security
  3. 3. Toggle off Advanced Security
  4. 4. Confirm the change

Note: Disabling reduces protection but improves gaming connectivity

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Cannot access 10.0.0.1

  • Try 10.1.10.1 instead
  • Use Xfinity app
  • Reset gateway to defaults
  • Check if in bridge mode

Port forwarding not working

  • Disable Advanced Security in app
  • Check device has static IP
  • Verify firewall settings
  • Restart after changes

Double NAT detected

  • Enable bridge mode
  • Remove secondary router
  • Configure DMZ for router
  • Contact Comcast support
